The 'Rose on Ice' collection utilises a pairing of diamonds and rubies set into, and given their overall structure by, 24k gold to create the illusion of a snowflake in the moment it passes across a vibrant red rose, refracting the rouge across the snowflake's dendrites.

"All of the 'A Rose on Ice' pieces were developed as a set, however it was just as important to me that each individual piece was able to stand alone — to stand on its own merit. So to this end, each piece of the 'A Rose on Ice' collection shares a common design structure, whilst simultaneously maintaining its own individuality.

When wearing this collection together, your audience is able to visualise the evolution and changing nature of the snowflake. Just as their gaze passes across from piece to piece across your body, so too are they able to see changes that they delicate snowflake undergoes as it passes across the rose blossom, refracting the shades of rouge and fuchsia, on its inevitable, gravity bound journey.
At first, we have this bold, uniform, flake of snow, whose form creates a grand showing of vibrant colour. The flake continues to drift lower and nature takes its course. Discord begins to change the delicate structure of the flake as we pass your clavicle and reach the pendant. Here we see that even in the chaos there is beauty. The flake continues to fall, losing parts of itself in the chaos as it dances down through the air and we reach the delicate Cocktail Ring.

The delicate and beautiful flake has now reached the last stage. As with all things, this journey has fundamentally and irrevocably changed the flake. It is not now what it once was and it never will be again that which it was, but for all of this change it is no less beautiful — it has been refined, not lessened. A valuable lesson for us all to remember I think."

The Life of Rose
'The Life of Rose' is an homage to tradition merged with artistic flair, showcasing the story of the life of the rose from stem, through bud and bloom. The blossoms of the roses incorporate dual layered facets of pink rubies, creating a higher level of dimensionality in the piece whilst simultaneously catching and refracting light from every angle as it passes between diamond encrusted, 24k gold petals.

"When creating this piece, it was very important to me that the rubies at the heart of each blossom would catch and refract the light in such a way that this refraction would play and dance with the yellow gold layered petals surrounding them, resulting in this blushing pink hue that would diffuse through the surrounding diamonds - creating a larger illusion of the blossom."

To create this effect with a single, large ruby, proved impractical as the size of the gemstone did not afford the surface area sufficient for the volume of refractive surfaces needed to create the effect. To complete the effect, each major blossom in the piece contains two rubies set upon one another yet with space between, allowing light to dance across their surfaces and carry their blushing radiance throughout the blossoms.
